Yeasayer - “Red Cave”

I tried to think of a word for “causes joy despite a funeral.”

“Red Cave” is off of Yeasayer’s only album, All Hours Cymbals, and this is the third Yeasayer post on Tuneage. I can’t stop listening to them. I’m actually going to ask my mom if she wants to play this song at her funeral. She’ll laugh and even though Yeasayer has a Middle Eastern vibe, she’ll probably agree as long as the banjo players in my family learn how to play it live.

I’m so blessed to have a good time
with my family and my friends that
I love with my short life I have met
so many people I deeply care for…

PS - There’s a free download on their website.

I know, another Yeasayer post, but this is impossible to ignore. This is the beautifully animated video to Yeasayer’s “Wait for the Summer”. I don’t usually bother with music videos, but this one is completely worth it. You can see a high resolution version here (.mov) — big download, but the experience is much more impressive.

The video was produced and directed by the Mixtape Club, who you may or may not remember also made a fantastic video for TV on the Radio’s “Me-I”.

Yeasayer playing “2080” from All Hour Cymbals on the Conan O’Brien show — his “favourite song in a long time”.
