Alchemist ft. Evidence, Blu, Talib Kweli, & Kid Cudi - “Therapy”
Hip-hop producer Alchemist enlists a slew of the genre’s best to help with his lastest album, Chemical Warfare, which dropped yesterday. From KRS-One to Eminem, Maxwell to Prodigy, the tracklist reads like a best-of album. It’s full of dark chops and soul samples, the best example of which might be “Therapy.”
Madlib & Talib Kweli - “Funny Money”
This hip-hop super-duo teamed up for a 9-song album called Liberation, available as a free download on the Stones Throw website in 2007. A second album is rumored to be on the way this summer.
Kweli, the legendary MC, spits bars about the trials and tribulations of being a touring musician, balancing the creative essence of the art form with the realities of, well, needing to earn a real living. Over a rich-sounding Madlib beat, Talib shares some of the funnier and more off-kilter experiences he’s had in his many years on the road.
