Santogold - “Icarus”

Diplo’s label, Mad Decent, released Top Ranking last week, and it’s one of the hottest summer mixes you’re going to hear this year.

Just as Diplo killed it on MIA’s Piracy Funds Terrorism mix that dropped before her debut, he does it again with Brooklyn’s own Santogold, mixing up jams off her recent debut album.

“Killed it” is putting it mildly, in this case.

As the review says, most of the Santogold material is off her debut album, but there are also a couple of previously unreleased tracks on there. “Guns of Brooklyn” is one of them, and this is another.

You can buy the full mix, which also features the likes of Kid Cudi, Ratatat, and Radioclit, here.

Santogold - L.E.S. Artistes

Some might think it odd that Tuneage has made no mention of Santogold yet, given all the hype, but measures had to be taken to ensure it lived up to the hype, and the official Tuneage diagnosis is that it does.

So here’s L.E.S. Artistes, the second single off Santogold’s self-titled debut, which came out last week in the US (you’ll have to wait a couple of weeks if you’re in the UK with me).

And once you’re finished with this post, I recommend heading over to RCRD LBL’s website, where they’ve got an exclusive Santogold track that’s not on the album.
