Gayngs - “Faded High”
Well, dear readers, it’s that time of year again. The time of year when music bloggers everywhere will attempt to impress you with their memorable-but-non-obvious choices for albums of the year. The time of year when the worth of your musical opinion is measured in how high (not too high!) you place the aural assault that was that Sleigh Bells album.
We here at Tuneage do our best to stay out of this fray and instead focus on those albums that we enjoyed the most this year. Sure, they may be obvious or not as difficult to like as something else, but dammit, I played the crap out of these records. And if you ask me, how much I play something is the real measure of how good I think an album is.
So without further ado, here are my favorites for 2010 (in band alphabetical order):
Bill’s Favorites of 2010
* I know what you’re thinking, but hear me out. I wanted not to like this album, honestly I did. But it’s been in almost constant rotation since I picked it up, and when I’m not playing it, the songs are stuck in my head. So, as much as it pains me, by my own rules, this album makes the list…and everyone else’s.
