Another week, another batch of Tuneage-approved releases. As usual, all links end at Amazon.
The Boy Least Likely To - “The First Snowflake”
With St Louis recently experiencing its first snowfall of the season, combined with my love of TBLLT, how could I resist posting this?
Simpler and more subdued than most of the material on The Best Party Ever, “The First Snowflake” serves as a song suitable for kick-starting winter.
The Boy Least Likely To - A Balloon on a Broken String
The Boy Least Likely To aren’t difficult to describe: they’re upbeat, they’re playful, they’re fun, and they’re good. In fact, I like to think that if all the Fischer-Price toys I owned as a kid magically started playing excellent music, it would sound a lot like The Boy Least Likely To.
TBLLT’s 2005 release, The Best Party Ever is one of my favorite albums in recent memory, and I’ve been itching for new material ever since. Well, TBLLT recently released two new tracks to their MySpace page, and I’m happy to say that their sound hasn’t changed much. It’s grown up a little, but maintains all the childish playfulness that made the The Best Party Ever so much fun, and this is a good thing.
Bonus: When you’re done with the song above, check out my favorite track from their first album; it’s called I See Spiders When I Close My Eyes.
