Now 2012 is starting to get rollin’…
Air - “Sing Sang Sung (Black Moth Super Rainbow Remix)”
I’ve had this in my to-post queue for longer than I can remember, and can probably come up with 100 slacktastic reasons why I haven’t posted it yet. And the only reason I hadn’t just given up and deleted it without ever posting it is because, well, it’s really good.
Air tends to have a certain delicateness to their music, where BMSR tend to be anything but delicate. Apparently, though, when you let BMSR remix an Air track, they manage to take the original and turn it into an almost completely different song that somehow still feels at once like both an Air song and a BMSR song. Now that’s a good remix.
You know when I said a couple of weeks ago that it was a good week to blow all your money on music? Well, that was a good week, but this week is even better and is going to cost you even more money. We’d apologize for your being broke if we weren’t completely wasted on good tunes…
Air - “La Femme D’Argent”
Air’s Moon Safari is one of my perennial favorites for early-morning tuneage, and the band released this video for the the lead-off track, “La Femme D’Argent”, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this classic album.
Air - “Universal Traveler”
The week is coming to an end and it’s time to unwind. We all just need to sit back and chill out for a few minutes and listening to Air is the best way I know. From their first EP Premiers Symptômes in 1997 to last year’s Pocket Symphony , Air always seems to create a beautiful backdrop of sound.
From their 2004 release Talkie Walkie, “Universal Traveler” is another beautiful song with a vagabond message.
However, if you’re in a more upbeat mood go check out the previous Tuneage post for Air’s “Kelly Watch the Stars”.
Air - Kelly Watch The Stars
Air’s Moon Safari turns ten in a few days, and they’ve set up a website to celebrate (or more appropriately: advertise; 3-disc collector’s edition, anyone?) the fact. Never one to miss out on a celebration, here’s my favourite from the album. Electro-pop will never be this good again.
Also, don’t miss the recently created — presumably to coincide with the anniversary — official Air Youtube channel, where you’ll also find the unmissable video for “Kelly Watch The Stars”.
