The Deathray Davies - “The Girl Who Stole the Eiffel Tower”
It’s Friday, I’m in the mood for something that will make me smile, and I’m turning to Texas band The Deathray Davies to make this happen. In particular I’m looking to their 4th studio album, 2003’s Midnight at the Black Nail Polish Factory, whose garage/indie-rock has been a Spring staple since I first got my hands on it.
This track, my favorite from the album, is (obviously) heavily influenced by noise-pop, but brings plenty of melody and charm to the table. I can’t put my finger on what exactly it is about this song, but it makes me smile every time I listen to it, and that’s exactly what I’m in the mood for.
