Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks - “Cold Son”
This song mixes some heavier sounds with an oh-so-catchy singalong chorus to create a folky rock song you can’t help but tap your feet to. The song sprawls, but does so carefully and never loses sight of where it is. “Cold Son” is off their LP Real Emotional Trash, which came out last March with much buzz and resurfaced again as of late on many a year end favorites lists.
