The Whispertown 2000 - “Lock and Key”

When I first saw the name of this band I expected either something really really cheesy or some horrible electronica. I didn’t think this Los Angeles-based four piece wrote music that would be the folky/country/indie that it is! I really dig their sound. They don’t have ‘crisp’ vocals and they don’t have perfect Beach Boys-esque harmonies. Regardless, I like the way it sounds!

The Whispertown 2000 is the first band signed to Gillian Welch’s label Acony Records, and their album Swim came out October 21st. They’ve opened up for Jenny Lewis, She & Him, Rilo Kiley and Bright Eyes, and they’re currently touring the pacific northwest if you’d like to check ‘em out!
