The Danks - “Treaty Connector”
Some Fridays call for music that’s a bit more upbeat and rockin’ than what usually finds its way into my headphones. Today is one such Friday, and Killbeat’s The Danks are providing the soundtrack.
Contrary to what their name implies, the Danks are bright, catchy, and fun. Not “poppy” like Weezer and not as polished as the Strokes, The Danks are good rough-around-the-edges fun. And although you wouldn’t catch me classifying their music as ground-breaking, they manage to feel familiar without feeling stale and they’re a band I expect to be reaching for again very soon.
The Danks’ first EP, Samples, will be released Nov. 4th and their full-length debut is slated for release on March 31, 2009.
