Brother - “Darling Buds of May

Brother, the self-proclaimed purveyors of ‘gritpop’, are a relatively new band based out of the UK. Brother’s story isn’t all that unusual. These guys were looking for a way out of their small hometown of Slough and decided that rock ‘n roll was it. After working for months on material, their debut EP, Fly By Nights is out today on iTunes!

Brother’s guitar-driven rock is a modern take on 90s Britpop. Spin pretty much hits the nail on the head by saying they “sound as if they nicked the best bits of both Oasis and Blur… calculated, shameless and giddy - but, damn, did it work.”

These guys have an exciting future ahead of them. A performance on Letterman May 6th, summer touring, including dates with Morrissey in June, and the release of a full-length album produced by Stephen Street out later this summer. I highly recommend checking out one of their live shows if you get the chance. They put on a killer performance.
