Leaders of the New School - “What’s Next?”

My craving for old school hip-hop this week took the unexpected cure, Leaders of the New School. They’re the group before Busta Rhymes busted into popularity. “What’s Next?” playfully bounces with dialogue (Chips Ahoy, muffins, balls) and intros with Busta rapping. It’s no wonder Leaders brought him so much attention. From their T.I.M.E.: The Inner Mind’s Eye album, this song is also their climax as it hit #1 on the 1993 Billboards before the band’s breakup. 

Busta Rhymes has a new album Blessed due in September featuring artists Mary J. Blige, Common, Akon, John Legend, Nas, and others.
