The Rumble Strips - “Girls and Boys In Love”

This is one of those songs that after you’ve heard it once, you will recognize it instantly within five seconds of hearing it again. The bum bum da da dum bum bum da da dum (roughly translated) is so infectious it will sear itself into your brain. Fortunately the song is splendid piece of Britpop so this isn’t a bad thing.

It’s upbeat without being bubblegummy and sounds happy without actually being so. It’s off their debut album Girls and Weather, which has already been released in the UK and will be released stateside August 5th. If you dig it, the band has a few free MP3s available on their website.
