Wye Oak - Warning
Wye Oak are a female-fronted indie-pop duo from Baltimore, whose album, If Children, I’ve been looking forward to since January. I just got round to checking it out (it was released a few weeks ago on Merge), and it does not disappoint.
The album varies in style from ethereal and shoegazey to slower, more intimate folk-infused numbers, and it creates a nice momentum through the album. “Warning” is the first single from the album, a fuzzy, shoegazy track that makes the most of Jenn Wasner’s perfect, pretty indie-pop voice.
