The Long Blondes - Nostalgia
Last.fm describes The Long Blondes as an art-rock band, but I think “art rock” is just a fancy way of saying “difficult to classify.” Indeed, the Long Blondes are a difficult band to pin down by their influences and similarities since they can sound like Portishead one minute and the Strokes the next. One thing that’s easy to pin down about them, though, they’re good.
Nostalgia, landing more on the Portishead end of the spectrum, is a track from The Long Blondes’ upcoming album, Couples, due out April 7th on Rough Trade. The song is droning-bordering-on-hypnotic and I’m completely hooked.
