The Cyrkle - ”Red Rubber Ball

Growing up, we had a jukebox in our living room that was packed full of the greatest hits of the 50’s and 60’s.  It also had some not so great songs from the 80’s but that’s not why we’re here.

One of the songs that was constantly played (to the point that my parents hid the record for a short time) was “Red Rubber Ball” by the Cyrkle.  While not technically a one hit wonder, “Red Rubber Ball” is by far their most recognized song. Co-written by Paul Simon, yes, that Paul Simon, the song reached #2 in 1966 but it couldn’t sustain the band which broke up in late 1967.
