Tuneage Loses its Podcasting Virginity →
Tuneage fans rejoice! We have a podcast now. For our first episode, we’ve kept it pretty basic — just 4 songs — but in future episodes, we hope to do more with the format. We’d also love to hear your feedback, either in the comments, or using the e-mail address linked in the sidebar.
So go and listen to episode 1 and let us know what you think.

One of my favorite things about music is that once a song is out there, anyone with the chops to play the tune can whip up their own version of it. Of course there are good covers and bad covers, but if you ask me, the best cover songs are the ones that aren’t just a regurgitation of the original, but rather explore an aspect of the song not found in the original. So with that in mind, the...

Mailbag
A fairly recent development with Tuneage is that we’ve started to receive a lot of e-mails with music to check out. Some of it is sent by readers, some of it by PR people, and some by the bands themselves.

Stream Portishead's Third →
Looking forward to Portishead’s latest album? I know I am. But there’s still a little under a week before it’s released. In the meantime, you can stream the full album on Third’s page on last.fm.
Bonus: Here’s a link to Sasha Frere-Jones’ excellent review of the album in the New Yorker.

Pitchfork.tv →
Pitchfork.tv went live at last. Looks like a solid launch, too. They’ve got, among other things, the Liars playing tracks from their 2006 LP, a whole Jay Reatard live set, the Pixies’ documentary loudQUIETloud, and lots of music videos, including an exclusive live recording of Radiohead’s Bangers & Mash. This might be worth keeping an eye on.
Here’s Radiohead...

Nick Cave & PJ Harvey - Henry Lee
This video was shot in one take and it marks the unfolding of the romantic relationship between the two singers that took place in the mid 90s. Apparently, the blossoming of ardor all occurred while filming this rather intimate video for the bluesy, melancholic duet “Henry Lee.”
I dare you not to be moved.
